The last time I had a drink of alcohol was over two years ago, and it’s been helping to create one of the best chapters in my adult life.

To be clear-minded all of the time and have awareness of all of the things both around me and within me is a gift.

To have a toolkit of things that can help me practice something called “emotional sobriety” – because let’s be fully honest, one can numb out with alcohol, another substance, or an activity like watching television or doom-scrolling the internet, or even exercise too much – is game-changing.

It’s not about just not using something to escape or dull the pains of life, it’s about fully experiencing life all of the time – feeling all of the feels, holding gratitude for the ups and compassion for the downs, healing and processing them, and working on true well-being.

It’s about identifying what one does want to create and experience in this life and intentionally moving towards it.

I just wanted to share this. I hope it is an encouragement to anyone out there wanting to soberly look at and experience life or who might be feeling like there is wholeheartedly more to experience.

Something I’ve said since I was young is that I want to “use all of the life experiences I have, especially the less than savory ones, for good, for the good of all.”

My life has been super full lately between growing and managing The Well Personal Fitness and our three locations, trying to forge a relationship, loving on the three pups, making some fresh and very lovely pottery plates, gardening, marathon training, and more.

I’m always open to conversations like these!

Hugs 🫶🏼
