Your Kit

You are powerful beyond measure.

I greatly look up to this lady above. Her name is Jennifer Beckham. She has overcome much in her life and used the story to help countless others. I got the opportunity to meet her at a leadership conference back in 2012. I was training for my first marathon, and, coincidentally, she was talking about marathon training (20k people in the coliseum .. how many people were training for a marathon at that time? Haha! God is so good!)

Her message has touched my heart, ladies, as I believe that it will yours, as well — she was a Disney Princess by occupation and her position amplifies what I believe is a big issue that ALL of us face (not JUST women) in comparing ourselves to the person next to us. (Come on, if you’re next to me on the treadmill, it’s a race, right? Haha, just kidding..)

We each are born with a kit, she explains. God has given you, yes, you specifically, a highly specialized, unique and phenomenal set of gifts, talents, strengths and abilities to build your life, ministry, work with. It took me a very long time to realize that I don’t want what’s in your kit! I want what’s in mine! Why? Because it was specifically made for ME! I will NEVER be the best YOU, but I tell you what, I am going to be the best ME that I can and use as much of my potential as possible!
