What values are you carrying with you along the way to your vision, your goal, your ideal life? The way you get there is just as important, if not more, than where you are headed. Are you doggedly determined to get there any way possible, even if you have to lie, cheat, steal? The majority of us would say, no, but allow me to show you, that if you don’t set out a clear purpose with values, you can literally fall into thinking that doing the above things (they would be packaged a lot prettier) may be alright.
Example: I watched Food, Inc over the weekend. They interviewed a local farmer out of the Shenandoah Valley. His values, his attitude, struck me. His goal, he said, was not to be so big and have his meats in Walmart. His goal is to provide the best meat he can, the best food he can, to the people who get it. And if the demand grows to be very large, then they will adjust to it, and hopefully be able to provide for everyone.
That’s my paraphrasing there .. But do you see the shift in values? Do you know how in demand his food is with that type of value embedded into what they do?
