“Butterfly or die, b*tch!”
Everyone knows the story of the caterpillar, right? You know, it begins as a caterpillar, goes into a cocoon, then emerges, through a metamorphosis, a beautiful, wondrous butterfly??
Let’s pick this apart a bit.
Metamorphosis: (in an insect or amphibian) the process of transformation from an immature form to an adult form in two or more distinct stages.
1. a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means.
Do you think it would be safe to say that “metamorphosis” could be defined as a “change from within?”
So every caterpillar has two choices – to become a butterfly, or die a caterpillar. Yes?
Oh how we can relate to the caterpillar .. realizing that the pressures and progression of life can either bring the best out of us or prove to be detrimental, even crippling, yes?
What is the difference? If life is going to come at us – circumstances, whether pleasant or unpleasant, then the question is, “what do we do with them??”
Life REVEALS us, it does not make us or break us. It reveals who we are, who we are created to be.
Some break. Some bend. Others emerge. Grow. From each experience.
“What doesn’t kill you … “ You know the rest, right??
Today’s dare: Might I challenge you to consider your own battles, your own struggles, and shine them in the light of who you have always wanted to be?
There is much to be said for what we have always seen in ourselves, in our heart of hearts.
In love, a
